  • Key Concepts:
Segment hierarchy is a feature of the Financial Services - Banking and Securities (FS-BA-SD) source data in SAP. It is a hierarchical structure that allows users to organize and store data in a logical way. The hierarchy consists of segments, which are the basic building blocks of the structure. Each segment can contain multiple levels, and each level can contain multiple fields. This structure allows users to easily access and analyze data.

    How to use it:
To use the segment hierarchy, users must first create a segment. This can be done by selecting the “Create Segment” option from the FS-BA-SD source data menu. Once the segment is created, users can add levels and fields to it. Levels are added by selecting the “Add Level” option from the FS-BA-SD source data menu, and fields are added by selecting the “Add Field” option from the same menu.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a segment hierarchy, it is important to consider how the data will be used. For example, if the data will be used for reporting purposes, it may be beneficial to create multiple levels with different fields in each level. This will allow users to easily access and analyze the data for reporting purposes.
