What is currency option in SAP FIN-FSCM-TRM-TM - Transaction Manager?

SAP Term: currency option

  • Component: FIN-FSCM-TRM-TM

  • Component Name: Transaction Manager

  • Description: An asymmetrical hedging instrument, where the rights and obligations are unevenly distributed between the purchaser and the seller. In contrast to listed financial instruments, OTC options with freely definable structures are traded directly between business partners. The buyer of a call has the right, but not the obligation, to buy a certain foreign currency amount at a certain price within a given period or on a given date. The seller of the call is obliged to deliver the foreign currency amount, and receives a premium from the buyer in return. The put is executed in a similar way, with the objective adjusted accordingly.
