What is input type in SAP FI-LC - Consolidation?


SAP Term: input type

  • Component: FI-LC

  • Component Name: Consolidation

  • Description: An object that identifies whether the individual financial statement data is cumulative year-to-date or periodic: Periodic data refers to the values that belong to the current period. Thus, the values represent the changes since the last data entry. Cumulative data refers to the values as at the closing date. The SAP System, however, stores the values periodically after performingan automatic computation of differences to the previous balance.

    Input type is a feature of the FI-LC Consolidation component in SAP. It is used to define the type of data that can be entered into a field. The types of input available are text, numeric, date, and currency. 
    
    How to use it: 
    To use the input type feature, first select the field you want to define. Then select the type of input you want to use from the drop-down menu. Once you have selected the type of input, you can enter the data into the field.
