SAP Term: context management

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Context management is a feature of the SAP EPM-SM Strategy Management component that allows users to create and manage different contexts for their strategic plans. A context is a set of parameters that define the scope of a strategic plan, such as the timeframe, the organizational structure, and the objectives. Contexts can be used to compare different versions of a plan or to analyze different scenarios.

    How to use it:
To use context management, users must first create a context. This can be done by selecting the “Create Context” option in the Strategy Management menu. The user will then be prompted to enter the parameters for the context, such as the timeframe, organizational structure, and objectives. Once the context is created, it can be used to create and manage strategic plans.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating contexts, it is important to ensure that all parameters are accurately entered. This will ensure that the context is properly configured and that any strategic plans created using it will be accurate. Additionally, it is important to keep track of all contexts created so that they can be easily accessed when needed.
