What is range in SAP (EPM-PCM - SAP BusinessObjects Profitability and Cost Management)?

SAP Term: range

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Range is a feature in SAP BusinessObjects Profitability and Cost Management (EPM-PCM) that allows users to define a range of values for a particular characteristic. This range can be used to filter data and create reports. For example, a user can define a range of values for a product category, such as “electronics”, and then use this range to filter out all products that are not in the electronics category.

    How to use it:
To use the range feature in EPM-PCM, users must first define the range of values they want to use. This can be done by selecting the “Range” option from the “Filter” menu. Once the range has been defined, users can then apply it to their data by selecting the “Apply Range” option from the “Filter” menu.

    Tips & Tricks:
When defining a range, it is important to remember that the values must be within the same data type. For example, if you are defining a range for product categories, all of the values must be strings (i.e., text). If you try to define a range with both strings and numbers, EPM-PCM will not accept it.
