SAP Term: model partitioning

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Model partitioning is a feature of SAP BusinessObjects Profitability and Cost Management (EPM-PCM) that allows users to divide their models into smaller, more manageable parts. This makes it easier to analyze and manage large models, as well as to identify and address any issues that may arise. Model partitioning also allows users to create multiple versions of the same model, which can be used for different purposes.

    How to use it:
To use model partitioning, users must first create a model in EPM-PCM. Once the model is created, users can then divide it into smaller parts by selecting the “Partition” option from the menu. This will open a window where users can specify the size and number of partitions they want to create. Once the partitions are created, users can then access each partition individually and make any necessary changes or adjustments.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using model partitioning, it is important to keep in mind that each partition should be small enough to be manageable but large enough to contain all the necessary information. Additionally, it is important to ensure that all partitions are consistent with each other in terms of data and structure.
