  • Key Concepts:
Lock protection span is a feature of the SAP Enterprise Portal (EP) PIN Portal Infrastructure component. It is used to protect user accounts from unauthorized access by limiting the number of failed login attempts. After a certain number of failed attempts, the account will be locked for a specified period of time. This prevents malicious actors from attempting to guess a user's password and gain access to their account.

    How to use it:
The lock protection span can be configured in the EP-PIN Portal Infrastructure component. The administrator can set the number of failed login attempts before an account is locked, as well as the length of time that the account will remain locked. This ensures that user accounts are secure and protected from unauthorized access.

    Tips & Tricks:
It is important to ensure that the lock protection span is set to an appropriate level for your organization. Too few failed login attempts before an account is locked may not provide enough security, while too many may lead to users being locked out of their accounts too often.
