  • Key Concepts:
A reference file is a type of file used in SAP Data Services (EIM-DS) to store data that is used as a reference for other data. It is used to store data that is not changed often, such as a list of countries or a list of product codes. The reference file can be used to look up values in other files, such as when looking up a country code in a customer file.

    How to use it:
Reference files are created and managed in the Data Services Designer. To create a reference file, select the “Create Reference File” option from the Data Services Designer menu. This will open the Reference File Editor, where you can enter the data for the reference file. Once the data is entered, you can save the reference file and use it in other Data Services jobs.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a reference file, it is important to make sure that all of the data is entered correctly. If there are any errors in the data, it could cause errors in other jobs that use the reference file. It is also important to make sure that all of the data is up-to-date and accurate.
