• Description: A process to summarize a key figure in a report with reference to a specific time-based field for example, period. It does not, for example, make sense to sum the number of employees over several periods. However, it is meaningful to calculate the average over the periods. When dealing with share prices, the maximum, minimum and average prices within a period are of interest, and not the sum.

  Time-based aggregation is a feature of the Executive Information System (EC-EIS) component of SAP software. It allows users to aggregate data from multiple sources and present it in a time-based format. This allows users to quickly and easily analyze data over a period of time, such as monthly or yearly. 
  
  How to use it: 
  Time-based aggregation can be used in the EC-EIS component of SAP software by selecting the “Time-Based Aggregation” option from the menu. This will open a window where users can select the data sources they want to aggregate and the time period they want to analyze. Once the data sources and time period have been selected, users can click “Run” to generate the aggregated data. 
  
  Tips & Tricks: 
  When using time-based aggregation, it is important to select the appropriate data sources and time period. If too many data sources are selected, the aggregated data may be difficult to interpret. Additionally, selecting an inappropriate time period may lead to inaccurate results.
