transponder ID - Overview

transponder ID - Details

  • Key Concepts: A transponder ID is a unique identifier assigned to a vehicle for use in Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) systems. It is typically a small radio frequency identification (RFID) tag that is attached to the vehicle’s windshield or license plate. The transponder ID is used to identify the vehicle and its owner, allowing them to pay tolls without having to stop at a toll booth.
How to use it: In order to use a transponder ID, the vehicle owner must first register with the ETC system. This involves providing personal information such as name, address, and payment information. Once registered, the vehicle owner will be issued a transponder ID which must be attached to the vehicle in order for it to be recognized by the ETC system. When passing through a toll booth, the transponder ID will be read by an RFID reader and the appropriate toll will be charged to the vehicle owner’s account.
Tips & Tricks: It is important to make sure that your transponder ID is properly attached to your vehicle in order for it to be read by the ETC system. Additionally, make sure that your payment information is up-to-date in order to avoid any delays or issues when passing through a toll booth.
