  • Key Concepts:
Overhead keys are used in Product Cost Controlling (CO-PC) to assign overhead costs to cost objects. Overhead keys are used to group overhead costs into categories, such as labor costs, material costs, and other costs. The overhead key is assigned to a cost object, such as a product or a production order, and the overhead costs are then allocated to the cost object based on the overhead key.

    How to use it:
To use an overhead key, first create an overhead key in the system. This can be done in the Overhead Key Maintenance (OKM) transaction. Once the overhead key is created, it can be assigned to a cost object in the Cost Object Master Data (COD) transaction. The overhead key will then be used to allocate the overhead costs associated with the cost object.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating an overhead key, it is important to ensure that the correct cost elements are assigned to the overhead key. This will ensure that the correct costs are allocated to the cost object when using the overhead key. Additionally, it is important to ensure that the correct cost centers are assigned to the overhead key so that the correct costs are allocated to the cost object.
