  • Key Concepts:
Dithering is a technique used in SAP Visual Enterprise (CA-VE) to create the illusion of more colors on a display than are actually available. It works by combining pixels of different colors to create the appearance of a new color. This technique is used to create smoother transitions between colors and to reduce the amount of banding that can occur when displaying gradients.

    How to use it:
Dithering can be enabled or disabled in SAP Visual Enterprise by going to the “Display Settings” menu and selecting “Dithering”. When enabled, dithering will be applied to all images displayed in the application.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using dithering, it is important to remember that it will only work if the display supports a wide enough color range. If the display does not support enough colors, dithering will not be effective and may even make the image look worse.

    Related Information:
Dithering is also used in other applications such as image editing software and video games. It is also used in printing, where it is known as halftoning.
