Component: CA-VE
Component Name: SAP Visual Enterprise
Description: The faces or polygons that appear on the reverse side of a model. To reduce file size when rendering, you might only render those faces or polygons that can be seen, therefore ignoring anything backfacing. Essentially, you would be creating one-sided objects. So, as an individual shape, if the model was rotated in space, you would actually see nothing when viewing it from the 'inside' perspective.
Key Concepts: Back face is a feature of SAP Visual Enterprise (CA-VE) that allows users to view the back side of 3D objects. This feature is useful for inspecting the back side of objects that are not visible from the front, such as the inside of a car engine or the back of a computer monitor. How to use it: To use the back face feature, users must first select an object in the 3D view. Then, they can click on the “Back Face” button in the toolbar to view the back side of the object. The back face feature can also be accessed by right-clicking on an object and selecting “Back Face” from the context menu. Tips & Tricks: When using the back face feature, it is important to remember that some objects may not have a visible back side. In these cases, the back face feature will not be available. Additionally, some objects may have multiple sides that can be viewed with this feature. To switch between sides, users can click on the “Next Side” button in the toolbar or right-click on an object and select “Next Side” from the context menu.
