  • Description: In India, an indirect tax charged on the supply of goods and services, right from the manufacturer or service provider to the consumer. Credits of input taxes paid at each stage is available in the subsequentstage of value addition. Thus, the final consumer will only bear the taxcharged by the last dealer in the supply chain, with set-off benefits atall previous stages. This tax system comprises of the following: Central GST CGST: levied by the Central Government State GST SGST: levied by the State Government Integrated GST IGST: levied by the Central Government on inter-state supplies Union Territory GST UTGST: levied by the State/Union Territory on intra union territory supplies
