  • Key Concepts:
A fallback variant is a feature of the SAP CA-ATP Available-to-Promise (ATP) component that allows users to define alternative materials or services that can be used in place of the original item if it is not available. This feature helps to ensure that customers can still receive the product or service they need, even if the original item is not available.

    How to use it:
To use the fallback variant feature, users must first define the alternative materials or services that can be used as a substitute for the original item. This can be done in the SAP system by creating a fallback variant for each item. Once this is done, the system will automatically check for availability of the original item and, if it is not available, will offer the alternative material or service as an option.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating fallback variants, it is important to ensure that the alternative materials or services are suitable substitutes for the original item. This will help to ensure that customers are still able to receive what they need, even if the original item is not available. Additionally, it is important to keep track of which items have fallback variants defined so that they can be easily accessed when needed.
