What is default authorization group in SAP CA-ATP - Available-to-Promise (ATP)?

SAP Term: default authorization group

  • Component: CA-ATP

  • Component Name: Available-to-Promise (ATP)

  • Description: In the Manage Characteristic Catalogs app used in Advanced Available-to Promise aATP, to restrict reading and and editing of characteristic values in general and explicitly authorize users to read and edit specified characteristic value combinations, you can define a default authorization group that is automatically assigned to all characteristicvalue combinations for which no valid authorization group exists. The default authorization group does not contain any characteristics and values, it can be determined for any characteristic value combination.  As a result, viewing and editing of characteristic values is generally restricted until you define specific authorization groups and assign them as a restriction to the relevant user roles, which enable assigned users to view/edit the respective characteristic value combinations.
