  • Key Concepts:
In SAP BusinessObjects Information Design Tool (IDT), a level is a hierarchical structure that organizes data into logical groups. Levels are used to create a hierarchy of data, allowing users to drill down into the data and view it from different perspectives. Levels can be created from existing tables or created from scratch.

    How to use it:
To create a level in IDT, first select the table or tables that contain the data you want to organize. Then, select the columns that will be used to create the level. Finally, define the hierarchy of the level by specifying which columns will be used as parent and child levels.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating levels, it is important to consider how the data will be used. For example, if you are creating a level for sales data, you may want to create separate levels for product categories, regions, and customers. This will allow users to easily drill down into the data and view it from different perspectives.
