  A calculated column is a column in an SAP BusinessObjects Information Design Tool (IDT) universe that is created by combining existing columns from the data source.   How to use it: 
  To create a calculated column, open the IDT and select the universe you want to work with. Then, select the “Calculated Columns” tab and click “Create”.
