  • Key Concepts: A calculated column is a column in an SAP BusinessObjects Information Design Tool (IDT) universe that is created by combining existing columns from the data source. Calculated columns are used to perform calculations on the data, such as sums, averages, and ratios. They can also be used to create new columns that are not available in the data source.
    How to use it: To create a calculated column, open the IDT and select the universe you want to work with. Then, select the “Calculated Columns” tab and click “Create”. Enter a name for the calculated column and select the data type. Then, enter the formula for the calculation using existing columns from the data source. Finally, click “Save” to save the calculated column.
    Tips & Tricks: When creating a calculated column, it is important to make sure that the formula is correct and that it produces the desired result. It is also important to make sure that all of the columns used in the formula are of compatible data types.
