What is input tokenizer in SAP BC-WD - Web Dynpro?

SAP Term: input tokenizer

  • Component: BC-WD

  • Component Name: Web Dynpro

  • Description: A control used to visualize several tokens in an editable field. Visualiztion of a token depends on its state, which can be any of the following: Valid Invalid Unchecked Different tokens are separated by a separator that is, ";". One use case is an address bar as used in Microsoft Office. If the user enters a new token in the input tokenizer this token is by definition unchecked and is displayed as normal text. As long as the token has not been verified by the application the user can modify it. After the user has entered all the tokens he/she invokes the validation of the tokens for example, by clicking on a button that is not part of the control. The application receives the list of tokens and decides which tokens are valid and which are not.

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Input tokenizer is a component of the BC-WD Web Dynpro, which is a web-based development environment for creating user interfaces for SAP applications. The input tokenizer is used to parse user input into tokens, which are then used to create a structured data set. This data set can then be used to create a user interface or to perform other tasks.

    How to use it:
The input tokenizer is used to parse user input into tokens. To do this, the user must provide the input tokenizer with a string of text that contains the desired tokens. The input tokenizer will then parse the string and create a structured data set based on the tokens it finds.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using the input tokenizer, it is important to ensure that the string of text provided contains only valid tokens. If there are any invalid tokens, the input tokenizer will not be able to parse them correctly and may produce unexpected results.

    Related Information:
The input tokenizer is part of the BC-WD Web Dynpro development environment, which also includes other components such as the UI element library and the event handler framework. These components can be used together to create powerful user interfaces for SAP applications.
