What is model node in SAP BC-SRV-RM - SAP Records Management?

SAP Term: model node

  • Component: BC-SRV-RM

  • Component Name: SAP Records Management

  • Description: Node in the overview tree of a record model, to which at least one element type is assigned. Instances of the model node occur in all records that are based on the same record model. Model nodes can be assigned elements in records. The elements assigned to the node must have the same element type as the element type assigned to the model node in the record model. This means that records based on the same record model always have the same content structure. There can be any number of model nodes in a record, depending on the amount permitted in the underlying record model.

  • Key Concepts:
A model node is a component of SAP Records Management (BC-SRV-RM). It is a hierarchical structure that allows users to organize and store records in a logical and efficient manner. Model nodes are used to define the structure of a records management system, including the types of records that can be stored, the access rights for each type of record, and the relationships between different types of records.

    How to use it:
Model nodes are used to create a hierarchical structure for records management. This structure can be used to define the types of records that can be stored, the access rights for each type of record, and the relationships between different types of records. To create a model node, users must first define the root node, which is the top-level node in the hierarchy. Then, users can add additional nodes to create a tree-like structure. Each node can have its own set of access rights and relationships with other nodes.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating model nodes, it is important to consider how they will be used in practice. For example, if you are creating a model node for customer records, you should consider what types of customer information will need to be stored and how it should be organized. Additionally, it is important to consider who will have access to each type of record and how they will interact with it.
