Connection areas define the scope of relationships between objects. Every entry in a connection area consist of the following: Source document class Target document class Relationship class Documents in each can be linked by a relationship of the relationship class only once a corresponding entry has been made in the connection area. Connection areas can also restrict the views on documents by, for example, limiting a view to only the relationahips of a particular connection area.
