Component: BC-SRV-KPR-DMS
Component Name: Document Management Services
Description: Process whereby several physical documents are derived from one physical document. All versions of a physical document are of equal status. &EXAMPLE& If a German document is translated into English and Spanish, there will be three document versions. Multiple versioning then exists for this document.
Key Concepts: Multiple versioning is a feature of SAP Document Management Services (DMS) that allows users to store multiple versions of a document in the same folder. This feature allows users to keep track of changes made to a document over time, and to easily revert back to an earlier version if needed. How to use it: To use multiple versioning, users must first enable the feature in the DMS settings. Once enabled, users can create multiple versions of a document by selecting “Save As” from the File menu. The new version will be stored in the same folder as the original document, and will be labeled with a version number. Tips & Tricks: When creating multiple versions of a document, it is important to give each version a meaningful name that will help you identify it later. For example, if you are creating a new version of a document called “Sales Report”, you could name it “Sales Report v2” or “Sales Report - Updated”.
