Component: BC-SRV-COM
Component Name: Communication Services: Mail, Fax, SMS, Telephony
Description: Life span of an alert in minutes. If the expiry time elapses, the alert is removed from the alert inbox and is no longer delivered using any other channel.
Key Concepts: Expiry time is a setting in the SAP Communication Services component that determines how long a message will remain in the system before it is automatically deleted. It is used to ensure that messages do not remain in the system for an extended period of time, taking up unnecessary storage space. How to use it: The expiry time can be set in the SAP Communication Services component by navigating to the “Expiry Time” tab. Here, you can set the expiry time for each type of message (e.g. email, fax, SMS, etc.). The expiry time can be set to any value between 1 and 999 days. Tips & Tricks: It is important to note that the expiry time setting only applies to messages that have not been read or processed by the system. If a message has been read or processed, it will remain in the system until it is manually deleted.
