What is decay in SAP BC-SRV-BRF - Business Rule Framework?

SAP Term: decay

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Decay is a feature of the Business Rule Framework (BRF) in SAP. It allows for the automatic expiration of rules after a certain period of time. This helps to ensure that rules are up-to-date and relevant.

    How to use it:
Decay can be enabled in the BRF by setting a decay period for each rule. This period can be set to any length of time, from days to years. Once the decay period has expired, the rule will no longer be active and will need to be updated or replaced.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting a decay period, it is important to consider how often the rule needs to be updated. If the rule is likely to change frequently, then a shorter decay period should be used. On the other hand, if the rule is unlikely to change, then a longer decay period can be used.

    Related Information:
For more information on using decay in BRF, please refer to SAP's official documentation on Business Rule Framework (BRF).
