• Description: The period of time during which a BRFplus object is kept on its current level of deletion. Deleting objects in BRFplus is a process of several steps, which starts by flagging an object for deletion, then deleting it logically, and finally physically. Once an object has been put on a new level of deletion, this level is kept by the system for the defined retention time so that it is still possible to reactivate a deleted object if need be, unless the object has been deleted physically.

  Retention time is a feature of the ABAP-Based Business Rules Framework (BRFplus) in SAP. It is used to define the amount of time a rule should remain active before it is automatically deactivated. This allows for rules to be set up that are only valid for a certain period of time, such as a promotion or special offer.
  
  How to use it: 
  Retention time can be set up in the BRFplus editor. When creating a rule, there is an option to set the retention time. This can be set to any number of days, weeks, months, or years. Once the retention time has expired, the rule will be automatically deactivated and no longer be valid. 
  
  Tips & Tricks: 
  When setting up retention times, it is important to make sure that the expiration date is set correctly. If the expiration date is set too early, the rule may not be valid for long enough. If it is set too late, the rule may remain active for longer than necessary.
