What is single sign-on in SAP BC-SEC - Security?

  • Description: A mechanism that eliminates the need for users to enter passwords for every system that they log on to. Single sign-on enables users to authenticate once, and then log on to all systems that operate in the single sign-on environment without further intervention.

    Single sign-on (SSO) is a security feature of SAP that allows users to access multiple applications with a single set of credentials. It eliminates the need for users to remember multiple usernames and passwords, and provides a more secure authentication process. SSO is part of the BC-SEC Security component of SAP. 
    
    How to use it: 
    To use SSO, users must first be registered in the SAP system. Once registered, they can log in with their single set of credentials and access all applications that are enabled for SSO. The user's credentials are stored in the SAP system and are used to authenticate the user when they log in. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    It is important to ensure that users' passwords are secure and not easily guessed. Additionally, it is important to regularly update passwords to ensure that they remain secure.
