Component Name: Security
Description: In identity management this is the action of ending federation. Here federation provides the means to share identity information between partners. To share information about a user, partners must be able to identify the user, even though they may use different identifiers for the same user. SAML 2.0 standard defines the name identifier name ID as the means to establish a common identifier.Once the name ID has been established, the user is said to have a federated identity. Defederation here means deleting the name ID.
Key Concepts: Defederation is a process in SAP BC-SEC Security that allows users to remove their authorization from a federated identity provider. This process is used to ensure that the user's identity is no longer associated with the identity provider, and that the user's access to the system is revoked. How to use it: In order to defederate a user, the user must first log into the system using their federated identity provider. Once logged in, the user can then select the “Defederate” option from the menu. This will revoke the user's access to the system and remove their authorization from the identity provider. Tips & Tricks: It is important to note that defederation does not delete any of the user's data or settings from the system. The user's data will remain intact, but they will no longer have access to it. Additionally, it is important to ensure that all users are aware of the defederation process and understand how it works before attempting to use it.
