  • Key Concepts:
A basic type is a data type used in SAP's ALE Integration Technology. It is a predefined data type that can be used to define the structure of an IDoc (Intermediate Document). It contains the fields and their data types that are necessary for the IDoc to be processed.

    How to use it:
Basic types are used to define the structure of an IDoc. They are created in the IDoc Type Designer and can be used to define the fields and their data types that will be included in the IDoc. The basic type is then assigned to an IDoc type, which is then used to create an IDoc.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a basic type, it is important to ensure that all of the necessary fields and their data types are included. This will ensure that the IDoc can be processed correctly. Additionally, it is important to ensure that all of the fields are properly mapped when assigning the basic type to an IDoc type.
