SAP Term: HTTP destination

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
HTTP destination is a component of the SAP Enterprise Service Infrastructure (BC-ESI) that allows for communication between SAP systems and external applications. It is used to define the connection parameters for an external application, such as the URL, authentication type, and user credentials.

    How to use it:
To use an HTTP destination, you must first create a destination in the SAP system. This can be done by navigating to the transaction code SM59 and selecting “Create” from the menu. You will then need to enter the connection parameters for the external application, such as the URL, authentication type, and user credentials. Once you have saved the destination, you can use it in your SAP system to communicate with the external application.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating an HTTP destination, make sure to double-check all of the connection parameters to ensure that they are correct. Additionally, it is important to keep your user credentials secure and not share them with anyone else.
