What is weakly encapsulated in SAP BC-DWB-TOO-PAK - Package Tools?

SAP Term: weakly encapsulated

  • Component: BC-DWB-TOO-PAK

  • Component Name: Package Tools

  • Description: Middle encapsulation level for a package This encapsulation level allows external access to package contents that have not been exposed on a package interface. Each access of this type raises warnings or is logged, respectively. Initially, a weakly encapsulated package has an implicit default interface. Unlike a non-encapsulated package, one of its package interfaces can be declared as an explicit default interface. In this way, package contents can be exposed gradually on this package interface, making it possible to control access from other packages in detail. This means that the number of repository objects that can be used externally can be "frozen" at a certain point so that new objects created in the package cannot automatically be used externally. This encapsulation level is normally used as a transitional level duringthe migration of non-encapsulated server packages to encapsulated server packages. It is the default setting for packages that have been migrated
