Component: BC-DWB-TOO-PAK
Component Name: Package Tools
Description: Package that contains a subpackage By default, the repository objects of a superpackage are not visible to its subpackages. They can be made visible in exceptional cases, however ,if attribute "Visible for Subpackages" is activated explicitly for the interface of the superpackage. On the other hand, the content of the package interface of a subpackage is visible to, and can be used implicitly by, its direct superpackage. In particular, the direct superpackage can propagate individual repository objects or the entire package interface of its direct subpackages to its own package interface if this is not forbidden by an access control list. This means that the superpackage can expose the repository objects of its direct subpackages, thereby extending their visibility upwards.
Key Concepts: A superpackage is a collection of packages in the SAP system that are related to each other and can be used together. It is a way to group packages into a single unit, making it easier to manage and deploy them. Superpackages are used in the Package Tools component of SAP, which is part of the Basis layer. How to use it: To use a superpackage, you must first create it in the Package Tools component. You can then add packages to the superpackage and deploy them together. You can also modify the superpackage by adding or removing packages as needed. Tips & Tricks: When creating a superpackage, make sure to include all related packages that you will need for your project. This will make it easier to manage and deploy them together. Additionally, you should keep track of any changes you make to the superpackage so that you can easily revert back if needed.
