What is deprecation level in SAP BC-DWB-TOO-PAK - Package Tools?

  • Description: A setting to control the package check for objects whose release status was revoked.. By default, using deprecated objects results in a warning. Other settings lead to an error in case of static usage.

    Deprecation level is a concept used in the BC-DWB-TOO-PAK Package Tools of SAP. It is a measure of how outdated a certain package is. The higher the deprecation level, the more outdated the package is. 
    
    How to use it: 
    The deprecation level of a package can be found in the SAP Package Browser. This can be accessed by going to the SAP Marketplace and selecting “Package Browser” from the menu. Once in the Package Browser, select the package you are interested in and look for the “Deprecation Level” field. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    It is important to keep track of the deprecation level of packages you are using. If a package has a high deprecation level, it may be time to upgrade to a newer version.
