  • Key Concepts:
Lock mode is a feature in the ABAP Dictionary of SAP that allows users to lock objects in the dictionary. This prevents other users from making changes to the object while it is locked. The lock mode can be set to either “exclusive” or “shared”. In exclusive mode, only one user can access the object at a time, while in shared mode, multiple users can access the object simultaneously.

    How to use it:
To use lock mode, first select the object you want to lock in the ABAP Dictionary. Then, select the “Lock” option from the menu. You will then be prompted to select either “exclusive” or “shared” lock mode. Once you have selected your desired lock mode, click “OK” to apply the lock.

    Tips & Tricks:
It is important to remember that when an object is locked in exclusive mode, no other user can access it until it is unlocked. Therefore, it is important to unlock objects as soon as you are finished with them so that other users can access them.
