  • Key Concepts:
CDS hierarchy is a feature of the ABAP Dictionary in SAP that allows for the creation of hierarchies of CDS views. CDS views are data models that are used to define and access data from the database. The CDS hierarchy feature allows for the creation of parent-child relationships between CDS views, allowing for the reuse of data models and simplifying the development process.

    How to use it:
To create a CDS hierarchy, first create a parent CDS view. This view should contain all of the fields that will be used in the child views. Then, create one or more child views that will inherit from the parent view. The child views can contain additional fields or filters that are not present in the parent view. Finally, link the parent and child views together using the “hierarchy” keyword in the ABAP Dictionary.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a CDS hierarchy, it is important to ensure that all of the fields used in the child views are also present in the parent view. This will ensure that all of the data is available to be reused in each of the child views. Additionally, it is important to ensure that all of the fields used in each view have unique names, as this will prevent any conflicts when linking them together.
