• Description: Meta object types make it easier for a translator to call up an object directly for translation if the object type is hard to identify, or if the technical name of the object consists of two parts. For example: A translator uses meta object type REPT TEXT ELEMENTS META in transaction SE63 Translation Editor to access the texts in a particular program for translation. Transaction SE63 maps the translation object from the meta object type to its real object type, such as RPT1 TEXT ELEMENTS FOR FUNCTION GROUPS or RPT4 TEXT ELEMENTS FOR PROGRAMS, determines its correct technical name, and opens it in the short text editor. A translator uses meta object type TLOG LOCKABLE LOGICAL OBJECT META in transaction SE63 Translation Editor to select a specific type of logical object, such as SSFO SAP Smart Form, and then list all of the individual objects of that type in the system.
