What is produced entity in SAP BC-CTS - Change & Transport System?

  • Description: Unit of production that has been generated from a development object or other produced objects and may generate further produced objects, for example a Java class file, a library or a deployable J2EE archive. Produced objects are not usually stored in a versioning source repository.

    Produced entity is a term used in the SAP Change & Transport System (CTS). It refers to an object that has been created or modified in the development system and is ready to be transported to other systems. This object can be a program, table, or any other type of object. 
    
    How to use it: 
    In order to transport an object from one system to another, it must first be marked as a produced entity. This is done by selecting the object in the CTS and clicking the “Produce” button. Once the object has been marked as a produced entity, it can then be transported to other systems. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When transporting objects, it is important to ensure that all objects are marked as produced entities before they are transported. This will ensure that all objects are correctly transported and that no errors occur during the transport process.
