    An ancestor in the SAP BC-CTS Change & Transport System (CTS) is a transport request that is the predecessor of another transport request. It is the transport request that was created before the current transport request and contains the changes that were made before the current transport request was created.

When a new transport request is created, it will have an ancestor that contains all of the changes that were made before the new transport request was created. This allows users to easily track changes and ensure that all changes are properly documented.
