Component: BC-CST
Component Name: Client/Server Technology
Description: Preferential assignment of logons of a single tenant to a single application server or designated subset of the application servers of a system. Tenants use a large amount of tenant-specific memory in an application server, for example for caches and shared memory. This use of tenant-specific memory could potentially lead to performance problems if tenant users are scattered across the application servers of a system. Tenant affinity is therefore the mechanism to optimize memory consumption by minimizing the allocation of memory for multiple tenants on a single application server.
Key Concepts: Tenant affinity is a feature of the SAP Client/Server Technology (BC-CST) that allows a user to access the same tenant (or instance) of an application regardless of which device they are using. This ensures that the user always has access to the same data and settings, regardless of where they are accessing the application from. How to use it: Tenant affinity is enabled by default in SAP Client/Server Technology. To use it, simply log in to the application from any device and you will be automatically directed to the same tenant that you were previously using. Tips & Tricks: If you need to access a different tenant, you can do so by manually selecting it from the list of available tenants. This can be done by clicking on the “Change Tenant” button in the application’s main menu. Related Information: Tenant affinity is a feature of SAP Client/Server Technology that is designed to make it easier for users to access their data and settings from any device. It is also used to ensure that users always have access to the same version of an application, regardless of which device they are using.
