What is tenant affinity in SAP BC-CST - Client/Server Technology?

SAP Term: tenant affinity

  • Component: BC-CST

  • Component Name: Client/Server Technology

  • Description: Preferential assignment of logons of a single tenant to a single application server or designated subset of the application servers of a system. Tenants use a large amount of tenant-specific memory in an application server, for example for caches and shared memory. This use of tenant-specific memory could potentially lead to performance problems if tenant users are scattered across the application servers of a system. Tenant affinity is therefore the mechanism to optimize memory consumption by minimizing the allocation of memory for multiple tenants on a single application server.
