SAP Term: disk cache

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Disk cache is a feature of the SAP Internet Communication Manager (ICM) component. It is used to store frequently requested web pages in memory, so that they can be quickly retrieved and served to users. This helps to reduce the amount of time it takes for web pages to load, as well as reduce the amount of data that needs to be transferred over the network.

    How to use it:
The disk cache feature of ICM can be enabled or disabled in the ICM configuration file. When enabled, the ICM will store web pages in memory and serve them from there when requested. The size of the disk cache can also be configured, allowing administrators to adjust the amount of memory used for caching.

    Tips & Tricks:
When configuring the disk cache, it is important to consider the size of the web pages that will be stored in memory. If the size of the web pages is too large, then it may not be possible to store them in memory and they will need to be retrieved from the server each time they are requested.

    Related Information:
For more information on configuring and using disk cache with ICM, please refer to SAP's official documentation on ICM configuration.
