What is start profile in SAP BC-CCM-MON - Monitoring?


SAP Term: start profile

  • Component Name: Monitoring

  • Description: Set of parameter names used to automate the startup or shutdown of an R/3 system on a network-wide basis. A start profile contains parameter settings that determine the application servers and associated processes for example, spool processes that are to be started when an R/3 System is started. A start profile is generated on the basis of a model profile supplied by SAP and the installer's specifications regarding the size of the host system.

    Start profile is a feature of the SAP BC-CCM-MON Monitoring component that allows users to define a set of parameters that will be used to start an SAP system. This includes the system ID, the instance number, and the user ID. The start profile also allows users to specify the type of system they want to start, such as a dialog instance or an update instance. 
    
    How to use it: 
    To use the start profile feature, users must first create a start profile in the SAP system. This can be done by navigating to the “Start Profile” tab in the SAP BC-CCM-MON Monitoring component. Once the start profile is created, users can then select it when starting an SAP system.
