Description: An exclusive gateway used as a merge for alternative sequence flows. There are a few special situations where you need an uncontrolled merge gateway. For example: An uncontrolled merge gateway merges two alternative sequence flows that were generated by an upstream decision. The alternative sequence flows are merged in preparation for a parallel join gateway that synchronizes a set of parallel sequence flows that were generated further upstream. If the uncontrolled merge gateway would not be used, then there would be four incoming sequence flows into the parallel join gateway. Only three of the four sequence flows could pass a token at one time. The parallel join gateway would wait for the fourth token, which would never arrive.
Key Concepts: Uncontrolled merge is a process in SAP Business Process Management (BPM) that allows users to combine multiple versions of a process into one. This process is used when multiple versions of a process have been created and need to be merged into one version. The uncontrolled merge process does not require any manual intervention and is done automatically. How to use it: To use the uncontrolled merge process, users must first select the versions of the process they want to merge. This can be done by selecting the versions from the list of available versions in the BPM editor. Once the versions have been selected, users can click on the “Merge” button to initiate the uncontrolled merge process. The process will then automatically combine all of the selected versions into one version. Tips & Tricks: When using the uncontrolled merge process, it is important to ensure that all of the versions being merged are compatible with each other. If there are any conflicts between the versions, they must be resolved before merging them together. Additionally, it is important to ensure that all of the versions being merged are up-to-date and contain all of the necessary information for the process to run correctly. Related Information: For more information on how to use the uncontrolled merge process in SAP BPM, please refer to SAP’s official documentation on Business Process Management (BPM). Additionally, there are many online tutorials and resources available that provide step-by-step instructions on how to use this feature in SAP BPM.
