What is assignment in SAP BC-ABA - ABAP Runtime Environment?

  • Component: BC-ABA

  • Component Name: ABAP Runtime Environment

  • Description: The transferring of the value of a data object, a return value, or a result of a functional method, a predefined function, a constructor expression, a table expression, or the result of a calculation expression to a target data object. If the data types are compatible, the content is copied unchanged. If the data types are incompatible and there is a suitable conversion rule, the content is converted.

    Assignment is a term used in the BC-ABA ABAP Runtime Environment to refer to the process of assigning a program to a specific user or group of users. This allows the program to be executed by the specified user or group, and can be used to control access to certain features or data. 
    
    How to use it: 
    In order to assign a program to a user or group, the user must first have the appropriate authorization. Once this is done, the program can be assigned by navigating to the “Assignments” tab in the ABAP Runtime Environment. From here, the user can select which program they wish to assign and which user or group they wish to assign it to.
