  • Key Concepts:
Consumption start percentage is a parameter used in the Constraint Based Planning Engine (CBP) of SAP's Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) module. It is used to determine the percentage of a planned order that should be consumed before the next planned order is created.

    How to use it:
The consumption start percentage is set in the CBP configuration. It can be set to any value between 0 and 100, with 0 meaning that no consumption will take place before the next planned order is created, and 100 meaning that all of the planned order will be consumed before the next one is created. The default value is 50, meaning that half of the planned order will be consumed before the next one is created.

    Tips & Tricks:
The consumption start percentage should be adjusted based on the specific needs of the business. For example, if there are frequent changes in demand, a lower value may be more appropriate as it will allow for more flexibility in responding to changes in demand. On the other hand, if demand is relatively stable, a higher value may be more appropriate as it will reduce the number of planned orders that need to be created.
