10 characters. The total length is made up of the generation namespace
of the namespace prefix and the append name.
The namespace prefix in the append name may not be the same as a
generation namespace. If you attempt to create /B71/ISET<(><<)>append
name>, for example, this fails because /B71/ is the generation namespace
for /BWTEST01/. The correct prefix would be /BWTEST01/ISET<(><<)>append
name>.
