The system attempts to find out automatically whether an interval
definition has been specified that is not supported in the authori
zations. If an interval definition is incorrect, but the system knows
how to correct it, it performs an automatic correction.
This correction does not guarantee correct interval definition. What it
can do is help to prevent the most serious kinds of errors from
occurring during interval definition.
Interval definitions that the system does not recognize as incorrect or
does not correct are not necessarily correct.
