The system cannot automatically add inspection characteristics of
operations that were newly added and were not part of the initial
routing.

You can add the missing characteristics of the new operations in the
inspection lot. This is possible in the application for changing the
inspection lot (accessible from the Manage Inspection Lots app, for
example) with the Update from Order function. The prerequisite is that
the status of the inspection lot permits the change.
