In order to allow the creation of an update log, the parameter 'MCL'
must be set to the value 'X' in your user data.

The function cannot be performed as long as the parameter has not been
set.

Set the parameter 'MCL' to the value 'X'.

In another session, choose "System -> User defaults -> User parameters"
from any menu.
Your current user-specific parameters will be displayed.
In the field "PID" (parameter ID), add the parameter "MCL".
Assign the value "X" to this parameter.
Save the new parameter setting.
Perform the function again.

It is essential that you remember to delete the parameter 'MCL' after
analysis of the update log. Otherwise, logging will also take place in
operative mode, leading increased pressure on system resources and
longer runtimes.
