The type is not changed since the status profile cannot be changed but
needs to be changed according to the system settings.

Select another type, leave the existing one or contact the system
administrator in order to adjust the system settings.

The type customizing is not setup properly. Please enable option
'Read-Only After Save' for the type you have assigned a default status
profile and enabled the option 'Overwrite Default Values'.
In this particular case, the overwriting of the status profile is not
possible.
