Message class: XC - Message Class for Core Interface
Message number: 402
Message text: Material &1 contains differently config. materials for several plants
Several configurable materials are maintained for material &1& in
different transfer-relevant plants. A cross-plant configurable material
in the material master (basic data) is not maintained.
As a unique assignment for this material could not be performed, no
class information can be transferred to the APO system.
Standardize the material master in such a way that plant-specific
configurable material for the respective plants is identical in the
respective integration models.
Alternatively, you can maintain a cross-plant configurable material in
the basic data view for material.

XC402
- Material &1 contains differently config. materials for several plants ?The SAP error message XC402 indicates that there is a configuration issue related to materials that are defined differently across various plants. This typically occurs when a material is set up with different configurations or characteristics in different plant locations, which can lead to inconsistencies in data management and processing.
Cause:
- Different Configurations: The same material may have been configured differently in different plants. This can happen if the material master data is not uniformly maintained across all plants.
- Plant-Specific Data: Certain fields in the material master are plant-specific, and if these fields have different values for the same material across plants, it can trigger this error.
- Material Type Restrictions: Some material types may have restrictions that prevent them from being used in certain plants if they are configured differently.
Solution:
- Review Material Master Data: Check the material master data for the affected material in each plant. Ensure that the configuration settings are consistent across all plants.
- Standardize Configurations: If the material is intended to be the same across plants, standardize the configurations. This may involve updating the material master records to ensure that they match.
- Use the Same Material Type: Ensure that the same material type is being used across all plants for the material in question.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team to understand the specific configurations that are causing the issue.
- Data Migration: If necessary, consider using data migration tools or programs to update the material master records in bulk to ensure consistency.
