  • What causes this issue?

A fixed price has been defined for material &V1& in this distribution
chain (&V2&/&V3&). It is therefore not possible to post/update a sales
price here. The same applies to conditions for pricing table fields
which are blocked for entries because of the price fixing policy.

    System Response

Condition type &V4& is not updated for the current pricing item.

    How to fix this error?

If you wish to create a condition record (more specifically, a fixed
price) for the current pricing item using condition type &V3&, proceed
    as follows:
Check whether the sales price currently defined differs from the fixed
    price.
Deselect the price fixing indicator in the sales data for material &V1&
    in the current distribution chain.
Then calculate the new fixed price for the desired organizational
levels, changing the final price in the pricing table to the fixed
    price already defined.
Save the price calculation. The fixed price and all the other condition
    records are now updated.
Reselect the price fixing indicator in the master data for the
    material.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WV455 - A fixed price has been defined for material &1 ?

The SAP error message WV455 indicates that a fixed price has been defined for a material, which is causing an issue in the transaction you are trying to perform. This error typically arises in the context of materials management and inventory valuation, particularly when dealing with materials that have a fixed price set in the system.

    Cause:

    1. Fixed Price Setting: The material in question has been assigned a fixed price in the material master record. This means that the price for this material is not allowed to fluctuate based on market conditions or other factors.
    2. Transaction Type: The transaction you are attempting (such as a goods movement, invoice verification, or pricing adjustment) may not be compatible with materials that have a fixed price.
    3. Price Control Indicator: The price control indicator for the material is set to "S" (Standard Price), which means that the system expects the price to remain constant.

    Solution:

    1. Review Material Master: Check the material master record for the material in question. You can do this by using transaction code MM03 to view the material details. Look for the price control indicator and the fixed price settings.
    2. Adjust Pricing: If you need to change the pricing method, you may need to adjust the price control indicator. This can be done by using transaction code MM02 to modify the material master. However, be cautious, as changing the price control can have implications for inventory valuation and financial reporting.
    3. Use Appropriate Transactions: Ensure that you are using the correct transaction for materials with fixed prices. If you need to perform a transaction that is incompatible with fixed prices, consider whether you can use a different material or adjust your process.
    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or your organization's internal guidelines for handling materials with fixed prices. There may be specific procedures in place for managing these materials.
